In various threads here I have mentioned that original land air-temperature data were available from many sources. Sometimes free, others not. Now, the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia has released all their original data, with the exception of Poland: http://www.uea.ac.uk/mac/comm/media/press/2011/July/crutem3 Apparently they stomped on Trinidad and Tobago, who did not want this to happen. So there is another place you can go to make your independent analysis of these records. Somebody else might want to do it first, so best get crackin'. Once again, we can set our ears to hear apologies and retractions from those who have previously assailed CRU for 'hiding the data'.
does the data prove the GW hoax? if not it is just another link in GW world wide conspiracy. it is obvious the data are of suspect b/c of the Poland and Trinidad and Tobago position.
Um, OK. Poland is out; T&T are in, albeit unwillingly. Perhaps it seems odd that I expect those who railed against CRU for holding the data would (should) now heap a bit of praise. Or at least acknowledgement. It is my version of accountability, a word which shows up in the climate debate from time to time. But maybe it means 'others should be accountable, not me'.
IIRC, the CRU dumped the raw temp data during a "move" because they did not have enough storage space. Is this that data or something else?
I have to say there still seems a lack of competence at CRU. They should not have released T&T without permission. I am glad they did release the other data. One of the reasons they mentioned for not doing it before was that some charge a fee. I also would not have had a problem if they charged a reasonable fee for the data and made it available. Most of the data was already available in this way, so it wasn't really a big problem.
