Mac users can now finally enjoy what Windows users have enjoyed for at least a year or more - Netflix on their computers. The irony is that it is enabled by Microsoft's Silverlight software. Anyway, enjoy.
I did a couple of presentations on Silverlight for local user groups. It's a pretty slick technology. I think it has the potential to overtake Flash in the long run.
Nothing too ironic about that. Microsoft has been one of the largest software contributors to Macs for years. Tom
Microsoft has a history of introducing software for the Mac to corner a particular market (e.g. IE for the Mac, to help it gain marketshare vs. Netscape) and then neglecting said software for years and eventually abandoning it (they discontinued IE for the Mac several years ago, after no updates for 3 or 4 years). Another example is the purchase of Virtual PC, then abandoning the Mac version. Mac owners beware.
