So this has little to no connection to the prime but I'm really curious and you guys seem very knowledgeable (You can delete the thread if you please, to moderators) Anyways every day when I drive to work there r these traffic lights you can only see from one lane and look really weird and are like holographic. Like u dont see them and then they just appear What are they called, And why? That's what they look like If you're in the turning lane you can't see the green lights and from afar their gone and when you get closer they just appear!
I’m not sure what they’re called but we could sure use them here. For a left or right turn, they don’t use arrow lights so when they turn yellow then red, drivers in the adjacent lane instinctively slow down. Not sure why the city can’t use arrows for yellow and red to avoid confusion; instead they opted to hang a separate non-lid sign that reads “Right turn signal”. They could be using shades or directional lights that make them invisible from afar.
I believe they are called programmable visibility signs: Programmable Traffic Signal | Traffic Signals | McCain They have them around here too.
I never knew that. I will have to pay more attention. I am not known for my keen powers of observation. My wife says it's a wonder you noticed me.
You have cured me curiosity This website has some good info 3M Programable Visability Traffic Signals
