Timing chain slack

    I have rebuild a half a dozen 3rd hens now but can not recall how much slack is “normal” in the timing chain. Look at the video.


    btw the timing chain tensioner is installed.

    After installing the tensioner, did you put enough counterclockwise force on the crankshaft to ensure that the tensioner released?

    Has the engine run since then, to develop oil pressure?
