    Hello

I made a huge mistake and did not set the timing to the proper location before removing the head on my 2011 Prius. At this point my best option is to start from zero and set the crank and cams to their proper positions then reinstall the chain. I watched numerous videos and read what I could find on the forum but I could not find
instructions that takes you through the steps as if the the motor had never been timed before.

Am I missing something or do just do as follows:

    1) Set the number 1 piston at TDC with the dot on the crank timing gear in a position that's lines up with the yellow timing chain link when it's in the correct position.

    2) Set the exhaust cam with the blue paint dot (line on gear) pointing straight up so the it aligns with the middle of the single orange link

    3) Set the intake gear with the line that runs all the way across the timing sprocket so that it lines up between the 2 orange links. (around 20 degrees)

    4) Put the chain on

make sure I don't let the piston hit a valve.

    thanks

    Hello
I was able to find the Prius Gen 3 engine manual on Mr Leisk's page which explains clearly how to set the timing.
I don't think I need further assistance at this time.
Thanks to all who read my post
