Dear Friends, Anyone know of a quality tire pump? The one I have doesn't seal the tire-valve with the result that half the air I pump in leaks out while I continue to pump. Regards to all, Jack Owen

It works pretty well and can serve as a seperate power source, battery jumper etc. It's a bit pricey at about $90, but it's worth it and shows the current tire pressure on the analog gauge while inflating.
I use a good bicycle floor pump-- uses no electricity and as a bonus you get a bit of exercise. Two good online sources, and currently on sale-- www.nashbar.com www.performancebike.com PA P

But don't get the cheapest bicycle floor pump, it doesn't work as well, will only last a couple years and you don't save any money that way. I now have one where all the parts are supposedly replaceable, but it's better built so I haven't had to test that in the 6 years I've used it, and I've used it to pump my 17" Subaru tires when there was a slow leak requiring frequent additions of 10 psi, so it's not just for bicycles. Not much exercise though, I typically spend more time walking around the car checking the air pressure than actually pumping air in.
 In 2004 I bought my first Prius and after the hassle of trying to check/maintain tire pressures, I purchased a high-quality digital gauge and 12-volt compressor. They have served me well and now I avoid 'down on my knees in gravel or rough pavement plus 3 or 4 quarters trying to check and maintain tire pressures. Both store neatly in the cargo area storage on the left. Compressor bought at WallMart, Gauge ordered online from Racer Parts Wholesale. [attachmentid=11004] [attachmentid=11003]
