I was out early today, stocking up for the Wild Weekend -- great weather, pouring rain and 48 degrees. But, happened to listen to CarTalk while I was driving the Prius and Tom and Ray were talking about Tommy getting a new car and the odometer actually has "six places." Meaning it can record 157,986 miles or some such banter. Made me curious. I was looking at the Prius odometer. It doesn't look like it can go six places. All my Toyotas have always recorded into the hundred thousand wonderland. Does the Prius?
Yes, my 2004 currently reads 196,650 miles and yours can go higher (although there have been reports of the ODO stopping at 299,999 miles in a few older Prii). JeffD
The Gen 1 can go above 300k as evidenced by Jesse's Prius that made it past 340k and another one past 400k, so I wonder why someone at Toyota made the decision to limit some (or all?) of the Gen 2 to 299k? I'm bummed about this, but I may not live long enough to get to 299k anyway.
