I'm gonna be a Prius family member soon! I'm currently looking at a handful of Gen3 Prii in the 2012-2013 age range, all around 80-100K, all around 10K (meaning high 11's "all in"). However.... a 2012 PIP Advanced just came up with 90K miles and no accidents. It's a "bit" more at 11,600. Caveat is that's already the bottom price - no wiggle. All in would be $13,300. Worth it, if I can't plug in anywhere.... for the conceivable future? A few higher mpg in general, yes. Smaller tank. No tire. Smaller storage. I'd only get the HOV access until the end of this year. But if I'm gonna use it for Lyft this might be quite the amazing little bugger. Other than Lyft it would be used on a fair number of road trips, just FYI. Thoughts? Thanks to all the amazing bundles of knowledge y'all are.
Cool!! The Advanced PiP has a lot more bells and whistles than the Base PiP. Not sure which model of the hatchback that equates to, but it's way up there. You'll want to weigh that against not having a spare. I have a Base PiP. Frankly, if I wasn't able to plug in at home, I'd rather have a spare tire in its proper place rather than strapped to a cargo ring taking up a third of my cargo area. I'll trade a spare to get over 100 mpg, but that's about it. If not for getting about 50% EV, I'd take the car with the spare tire.
unless you're getting an amazing deal, i would just get a lift back. spare, extra storage, and larger tank will be handy on trips. and lighter might be better for lift, idk.
Thanks, noted that. Seems like very few of the PIPs don't already have the badging here in CA, so a lot will expire on Jan 1. More room for the Teslas. Well, and *actually* carpooling cars. Haha.
