Anyone who has replaced front rotors on a Gen II Prius is aware that someone(s) in Toyota engineering screwed up on the design of front calipers in the placement of the caliper retaining bolts. There is another suspension-related bolt that interferes with the six-point socket that you use to remove the caliper retaining bolt.

This problem would be manageable with just a bit of cleverness, but alas the factory torque on the caliper retaining bolts is about a million foot pounds. The high torque dictates that you absolutely have your six-point socket resting squarely on the bolt head. Anything less than full engagement guarantees that you will strip the corners off the bolt head.

The optimum caliper retaining bolt would have a Torx head (male or female) that escapes interference from the adjacent suspension bolt. Does anyone know of the existence of such a replacement bolt?
