:roll: Just discovered another "feature" of our Prius. When I slam the hood, the Tow Plug in the front bumper somemtimes pops out. Fortunately, it is secured by a plastic "arrow like" string which prevents it simply falling on the ground. This provides access to attach the "towing eye" through the bumper. I had been muttering expletives about kids in the area, thinking they might have been seeking a "trophy," but find they're innocent.
haven't tried it but to me it looks like a P+T, also make sure the grip edges of the tabs are sharp and not turned over to preventing the tabs from snapping in.
Looks like the left claw (left in the photo) is bent inward so it no longer catches in the cutout of the bumper. Try gently bending it back, or get a new cover from the dealer.
