Here is the latest Toyota announcement on electrification of vehicles and their commitment to not foolishly abandon sedans as other manufactures are continuing to do. Toyota Doubles Down on Sedans | Toyota DriverSeat If you are interested in a motivational story - click the video to the right entitled Facing the odds. A great individual story of someone who refuses to give up! "Electrifying Products Which brings us to alternative fuels. Toyota has pledged that every model in its lineup will have an electrified version by 2025. The sedan lineup is nearly there. Prius is the industry standard for hybrids, of course. And the second-generation Mirai is potentially revolutionary. Through February, Camry Hybrid sales were up 16.2 percent, and about 35 percent of all Avalon purchases in 2020 have been hybrids. Meanwhile, the new Corolla Hybrid continues to make its mark. In June, 23 percent of Toyota’s sales mix were hybrid, compared to just 12 percent in June 2019. And Toyota continues to explore all electrification options, from hybrid to battery electric to hydrogen." So, with such a strong foothold in the sedan field, and an incredibly bright future on the horizon, Tenhouse raises a pretty simple question. “Why,” she asks, “would we not stay in this market?”
And Lexus announces a second EV, well sort of. They filed a trademark for RZ 450e in the US and Europe. Lexus Trademarks the RZ 450e Nameplate in USA & Europe | Lexus Enthusiast Background knowledge about what it might be: RX stands for Radiant Crossover RC stands for Radical Coupe There was a story on Green Car Reports about Toyota engineers showing off an electrified 86 to Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda (Shift to electric cars will cost money, may lack excitement: Toyota CEO). Apparently he was less than enthused about any electrified sports car. So my guess is Lexus decided to put their foot in the water first with this and maybe make a much lower in height almost wagon like car would be my best guess, almost like the LF-30 concept. The numbers suggest a rather high powered lift back/wagon and they’ll probably use those new Yamaha designed motors (Yamaha unveils 'extremely compact' electric motors for e-motorcycles, cars ) but not in each wheel like the LF-30. RZ = Radical Zen or Radical Zero (emission car)? iPad ? Pro
According to Lexusenthusiast site, they think it’ll be the third from the left. In that case it’ll be known as Radiant Zero. Kind of an also ran with other CUV/SUV types. Since these are Toyota’s EV concepts, I still think it’s a cross between the Lexus concepts, LF-1 and LF-30. iPad ? Pro
it it just our PC issue? or does everyone have to have an account just to read the whatever. Soon as it gets clicked - it tries to open up our MS 365 program. Never saw that before. .
The link you referenced works fine on my iPad. The link in the first post triggers Microsoft login for some strange reason. Perhaps it was meant as an internal dealer only site?
It appears from these renderings the front ends of these vehicles retain some of the current Mirai looks.
