Toyota Extends Hybrid Battery Warranty To Eight Years | The Motor Report: Auto News And Reviews Didn't realize that it was previously 5 years/100K km until I looked it up. (Am I right?)
How long is the warranty in non CARB states in the US? I believe the Australian warranty has been bought into line with the rest of the world, 8 years 100,000 miles. Good news for me but I'm not turning cartwheels or anything because I doubt I need any warranty, but my battery pack just went back into warranty. My car is about 5 years old and has 123,000 kilometres on it. I can't wait to drive the new pre-release Aussie Prius next Wednesday!
It's 8 years/100K miles for non-CARB states vs. 10 years/150K miles for CARB states. I believe the 10 year/150K mile HV battery warranty started w/model year 2004.
yes its a shame.. wy 5 years here in the EU...? the insight still gots 8 years. i guess in the EU people sales think the prius will sell itself.. i gues there right
When I heard the news for Australia, I thought that this is a good point to raise when the criticism about the battery is raised by the Prius haters - they would not extend the warrenty of existing cars if they were not confident that they really would not need to pay out on that warrenty. Then the news from Europe came through that they were reducing the warrenty. That does not make sense.
