Back in March of 2017 TRI put on an event out here at the Sonoma Raceway called The Prius Challenge: Prius Challenge Looking For Hyper-Milers When we were there, they had a fully autonomous Lexus and when we drove around the track, each of the 10 Prii had sensors and other devices to record data. TRI representatives there said that the data would be used to help advance autonomous driving for TRI. The one thing they said was that in 2018 they would circle back and have a second event where the autonomous car would compete with us. That never happened. But maybe 2019 and @3PriusMike and I can try to improve our stature in the event.
Well I don’t think it’s up to them. But they were the messenger last time. A marketing ploy maybe the only way to get them to return.
