Umm, I thought the 2010 prices are out in Japan and it is lower IIRC. It's in one of the threads where ken posted.
I don't know how the car manufacturers can price the market with the price of gas being so uncertain. $4 gas is a different car ballgame than $2 gas. And they are getting no guidance so far from the government. The car manufacturers need some direction. They need gas mileage/emissions guidelines to plan their cars, and they need some assurance of stability in gas/oil prices. That means the government has to restore regulation of oil futures and take it out of the hedge fund/gambling market. In fact, it's about time the government banned hedge funds, which are nothing but bets that the price of something will go up or down--which in turn drives the price of that something up or down. No dividends there. The price of the 2010 Prius is more dependent on the above than you might think.
it is package #1 that Toyota USA said would come later, 2 months ago . If toyota did anything to respond to Insight, it would be to raise the price of 2010
