Your call depending upon your confidence and comfort level. It's basicly insurance and you could loose the $1000 it'll cost you if you don't use it or you could save several thousand if you need it. Many find it easier to wait the 3 years/36k you have to decide and buy it then if your car seems to have lots of 'issues'. If it's running perfectly and hasn't had a single problem and you're more of a gambler then it may be worth it to skip it.
