    man, we're taking my wife's hycam in monday for the hvac fire hazard, now this. the last hycam had a power window switch fire hazard, this is getting crazy. is it because these things are made in usa?

    Or Toyota never called to have the materials tested with the seat heaters.
    Or it is actually a part from Japan.

    Friend has a 2005 Camry with a broken moon roof. These roofs break because some plastic rivets snap and the rails get out of alignment. How likely is it that Toyota was scammed out of using metal rivets?

    It is like the lead paint on toys. That was likely because of some corrupt plant manager in China, but it is ultimately Mattel's fault because it is their name on it.

    I'll forgo the heated seats. Heat causes the chemicals to outgas.

    No problem.... If my PIP burns I'll dance around the fire cause I'll be getting a brand new one gratis from Toyota now that the info is public record.
