just received an email from Toyota on their Earth Day celebration. it had links discussing Li-Ion battery technology and offering discounts of $600 on pkg 4?? on up to $2000 on the top of the line pkg that will be in effect until furthur notice, so if anyone is looking to buy, this sounds like a pretty decent incentive. *mod edit: URL to deal site: http://www.toyota.com/html/dyncon/2007/apr...s.html?url=html
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Tideland Prius @ Apr 21 2007, 04:27 PM) </div> well not really a lot said about the technology other than yes they are working on it, yes they hope to implement it, and finally... no, it will not be implemented until it can be as reliable and as safe as the current NiMH technology which leaves it rather open-ended as usual.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(DaveinOlyWA @ Apr 21 2007, 04:32 PM) </div> well of course they don't want to make any time commitment. Not only that, you don't want your competitors to know too much.
Sounds like a mixed message: Save $2000 Now! But if you wait, a Lithium-Ion Battery. I must agree with what was said on the Nav DVD upgrade thread. Don't upgrade the Nav DVD, buy a new Prius every three years.
Would anyone be willing to forward that email to me ASAP? We'rea bout to go look-to-buy one today and I'd love to see if these discounts would affect us on Earth Day!
