I have wondered before if the tire pressure monitoring (TPMS) system is useful.. (I have asked myself the question: Should I get an extra set of TPM sensors if I get separate snow rims + tires?). Last week the warning light was on!!!! I checked the tire pressure, and all but 1 tire had the normal pressure of 42 PSI. The fourth one was under 20 PSI. Then I noticed a nail sticking into the tire surface... I had time and drove to a local repair shop... they fixed it for 20 bucks and voila: my first good use out of the TPMS! I hope you'll never need it, but I now realize that it could have cost me much more trouble if I had kept on driving... loosing more air, and maybe get a flat while on a weekend trip with the family... or late at night on the freeway and/or in a tunnel. that's all.. cheers, m.
