My wife was driving the blue 2008 prius, pretty clean, almost 210,000 miles. We ended up selling it for approximately 3000. We currently have a low cost on a 2006 that has leather, nav, and only 161,000 miles. Cost is under 3k on that one. So basically even exchange for more options and less miles. Only two major things I noticed are the AC blows warm and it has a crack in windshield. Other than that seems good. Regarding the A/C, I will start with a recharge with dye either at Belle Tire or dealership depending on costs...and hope for the best. I've heard stories of either the compressor going bad or some cheap part underneath the dash which is labor-intensive. Either way I'm confident for under $500 I'll have it working properly...and I may push it off until next summer as it is about to get cold where we live. Oh, in other news, I ask my wife to test drive the 2006 with leather the day I get it (yesterday!)...and she backs up into the 2007 with 210,000 miles!!!!!! Both minor cosmetic injuries as far as accidents go. Just some paint flaked off. BEFORE (see rear right): AFTER: Looks worse close up than it really is and I think I can clean it up a little bit... Some additional pics: (The black stuff was just dirt)... Should be really rust free underneath as it was Texas owned and operated....Tires are good for at least a year....and now I have 2 Priuses with leather so I think we'll be content for the next year or two. I did notice that the headlights seemed to flicker a little bit at night (I just drove it a few miles). About to order cabin/air/oil filters and some Mobil One 5W30.
Belle Tire recharged AC and found no leaks. It has been working fine for about 7 days. All I did was recharge, change oil/filter, change cabin air filter....and later I will change the windshield. Wife fixed the damage to rear right: This is how it looked before:
I hope Belle Tire used a AC manifold gauge set that is dedicated for use only on Toyota/Lexus hybrids due to the difference in oils: PAG (conventional AC systems) vs ND-11 (Toyota hybrid electrical AC systems).
