Electrical issue when break is applied at idle transmission does not disengage to allow you to charge battery. If you step on the gas feel it trying to Go forward. It has been sitting not sure if wires got chewed. Any ideas or place to look? Thanks
Never does "disengage"; if you hold the brake and go pedal together because you want to force-charge, you do feel it try to "go forward". Can't be avoided; the charging is done by MG1, and whenever any amount of engine torque is used to spin MG1, more than twice that torque (78/30 of it) proceeds to the final drive. So, you're describing normal behavior.
Yeah that's what I thought because I have cars that I don't drive a lot and that's how I charge them up and then I run it up and down the street in front of the house a couple of times in the summer and that gets it to operating temperature and then I park it in a different spot but anytime I'm holding the break and pushing on the gas and drive yeah it certainly does want to go your brakes better be working well and so on same with any automatic car you do that in a big old Cadillac hearse and it'll do the same thing and then if you let off the break launch away
