Trick NAV unit into showing reverse camera while giong forward

    Has anyone tried to trick the navigation head unit into showing the reverse camera while going forward? I would love to have a button to engage this at any time.

    Connector L42 pin 5 is the signal that tells the nav unit the car is in reverse. The service manual says it is "used to help determine position" ... Hmmm.

    It would be possible to put a switch in line with the camera as well to input another video source like a DVD player. (Use AUX in for the sound.)

    Oh ya, according to the manual, sending 12v to this pin will tell the unit you are in reverse.

    Possible tip: The rear camera also appears on the screen when the Advance Parking Assist is engaged for parallel or back-in mode parking.
