I recently bought a 2012 prius c four. I have noticed that my trunk light doesn't come on, I have tried multiple new bulbs and it still doesn't come on. The trunk light doesn't have a on/off switch on the side of it like my other cars. Does the light always come on automatically when the trunk is open, is there a switch or button somewhere to turn it off or on? Is the trunk light fuse located underneath driver seat or in the engine bay?
The only control I know of is the switch integrated into the hatch latch. There is a fuse chart in the owners' manual, and if you don't have it handy you can download it from Toyota.
Not on the latch, IN the latch. It is fully integrated into the mechanical latch & lock device at the lower center of the hatch. See 69350P near the bottom of the reference drawing. This doesn't mean you need a new one, but if testing has ruled out the fuse then you should take apart the hatch and test the switch next.
