Can anyone suggest a starting point to diagnose a 2006 Prius that flashes both tail lights rather than one whenever a turn signal is engaged? Is a broken emergency flasher pushbutton a good first guess? Thanks in advance for any recommendation.

Way less confusing that way. Thanks. As to your question, I don't think it would be the hazard flasher. That would flash all four lights and it's not mechanically connected to the turn signal stalk anyway. I don't remember if the turn signals use the clock spring inside the steering wheel or not. If so, that's a possibility, but I'd think it would also flash all four blinkers.
