Uh Oh... MFD issue or not?

I seem to be having two issues that I'm not sure if they're normal or not since I rarely pay attention until recently.

    1. The MFD is slow to change screen whether it's the physical buttons or the on-screen buttons. However, after pressing the buttons (same one or different one, doesn't make a difference), the speed of the change increases. It can't be the temperatures since it's been above 0 all this time (heck it reached 11°C today). Any ideas?

    2. Umm, I don't know if this is normal but if I leave the car in IG-ON for a few mins, then start the car, then check the MFD when the engine starts, I see 5 mins of 10L/100km (or I guess the equivalent of 25mpg?).
The issue is that it hasn't been 5 mins since I started the car. How come it's registering when I'm in IG-ON?? i.e. it appears that the engine is off for the last few mins, then on for a few seconds and when it reaches "5 mins" that bars comes on despite the fact that the car was in READY for *fewer* than 5 mins on all occasions that I checked.

Sounds like you're getting a lot of AVC-LAN errors (or traffic?)

What kind of peripherals do you have? any aftermarket ones? if so, remove them, and see if the 'slowness' is fixed.
Question for someone else: where are the term resistors located in AVCLAN. IIRC, one is in 0x190 (HU-head unit but I don't know if there's another one? If the term resistor is intermittent, bad stuff with LAN messages might happen. Overall, the stock peripherals are very tolerant to errors, but aftermarket items tend to freak out when giiven error conditions. if you really want to see if it's AVC LAN problems, look up product diagnostics menu.

    2) Hmm.. Haven't ever tried that before. In Ig on, 0x1C6(gateway) _is_ generating messages though.. heck, the can bus is live at that point, and the system main relays are engaged..

Basically, if I keep pressing the buttons and keep changing the screen, it'll eventually get back to its normal rate of change. (I don't know if changing the screen warms up the screen or not lol).

But basically, the first few changes will be slow as if it's -40 outside

If you're getting just the very beginnings of the bad-solder-joint
MFD problem, that could be temp-related too. Things expand, and
connections are reaffirmed for a while... just a WAG.
    .
Is the avclan actually terminated? It's slow enough, does it
actually matter? CAN, yes, but what's avc, like 10 KHz or something?
