Autocar, one of the top 3 car magazines in the UK, have given a full road test to the Gen 3 Prius. Their verdict: " It's hard to give a star rating to a car alone in its type and market position, but based on what the Prius sets out to do, it does it very well. The idea of such a hybrid was always attractive in a pure, technical way, and for those wanting to make an environmental point that was enough. Now, though, the idea has been developed to the point where the latest Prius can be bought and used by anyone, after a little acclimatisation to its residual strangeness, and no one need suffer for the greenness. There are other hybrids but, at the affordable end of the market, none is as sophisticated as this and none will be until the Vauxhall Ampera arrives. Even then, the Prius’s mechanical bits will still be cleverer. The new Prius is now a desirable machine in its own right, and it closes the argument that says you might just as well have a turbodiesel. The Prius finally makes sense." Thanks for posting this. Autocar is indeed one of the top motoring journals and so it's hard to excuse the writer's belief the solar roof powers the air-conditioning.
