Hi all, Does anyone here drive the UK version fo the car, and if you have, have you ever seen the oil maintenance light? I'm coming up on 30000 miles now and I've still never seen this light - I'm just sticking to the 10k a year service schedule. Roughly 40% of the driving I do is in EV mode, so I'm wondering if maybe the mileage counter that turns the light on doesn't include EV miles? My old Mercedes had a 'smart' oil light which would only come on if the mileage id be doing was non-motorway mileage, so I'm wondering if this car has something like this. Thanks for your responses!
Not sure of UK version, but for US version maintenance warning comes on 500 miles before the 5K miles since the last reset. If you perform your maintenance before 4.5kmile, you don't see the warning light. Do you take your car to a dealer to be serviced? Have you ever reset the maintenance service warning yourself?
I downloaded the UK Owner's Manual (here) and compared with the North American version. On the second page of section "7-2 Maintenance" in the North American version, there's this: But the UK version is missing that portion. Long story short, looks like you don't have the in-dash maintenance reminder. Here in Canada we don't have it either.
That's interesting. Yeah, I have tried to do my maintenance at 5K interval regardless of the reminder, but it is not always on the clock. I did my last 30K maintenance a bit later at around 31K. I am at just past 35K now, but the reminder has not come on yet. 35K maintenance is just tire rotation, so I will replace it with my winter change over. To get the schedule back into sync, I have to override my maintenance reminder schedule by resetting it exactly at 40K next time, if I can remember that. I need a reminder to reset my reminder! lol
I'm months before kms, all the time. A km counter, for me at least, would just be distraction and hassle. You and I are both familiar with the Honda Maintenance Minder. By comparison, I would say that's a system that was soup-to-nuts, actually worked, was helpful.
