I'm away from home and did not bring my production & export summary here. But UKR exports substantial amounts of wheat corn and barley. I think much of the wheat is winter wheat which is planted in autumn and just sits around until spring. 'One weird trick' that gets full use from soils that have longish cold seasons. The other crops are planted like anybody would, I guess. I think sugar beets are a big deal there. I think it is still too early for 2022 planting even in low-elevation (warmish) places. Whether swords get beaten into plowshares by April/May remains to be seen. I think 2022 will not be a star export year. Shocking yes?
People who beat their swords into plowshares historically wind up plowing for those wo do not. I'm thinking that most of the sparkly stuff is occurring well away from the row crops, although it will be interesting to observe any changes to local background radiation around Chernobyl.
