I just read a local news story about the updated Yaris. Not only does the interior, exterior, and all the engines get a huge overhaul, but the hybrid which formerly did 27.8km/l is now rated at 30.4km/l (European fuel economy standard). This improvement is almost 9% over the most fuel efficient non-plugin hybrid on the market! We all now how the car makers game this test cycle, but this engine might preview some of the upgrades we will see in the next generation Prius. The Yaris is expected to be on the European roads in August.
My sources are in German and Danish, but I found this short news story in a more understandable language: Refreshed Toyota Yaris Hybrid cuts CO2 to 75g/km | EV Fleet World
They must be bringing something new out soon as the local Toyota dealers are offering some great deals on a new Yaris HSD. Our new model year starts in September so I think you're onto something Mr PriQ.
The Yaris HSD hasn't sold in big numbers here in Ireland...might be due to the high price tag of €20,000 / GB£16,300 / US$27,200 !!
