I have a Prius II with stock 15" wheels, recently I had bought a set of 17" wheels from a Prius V. Can I transfer my TPS from the 15" wheels over to the 17" ? If so, do I have to reset anything ? Thank you in advance for your help.
Almost certain they are the same units. You should still press the "Reset/Zeroing" button under the steering wheel AFTER setting all the tire pressures to what you will be running. It's in the owner's manual.
No need to reset if you're using the same sensors. When I got my 17s, I had the shop remove the sensors from my 15" and mount them on the new 17s. My PIP didn't throw any alerts.
I think if your using a new "standard air pressure" for your 17" that should be your new 'standard set point'. It would be optional, but if it's easy to reset, why not?
I am looking to upgrade to the 17" OEM Prius wheels as well. I currently have the stock 15's on my 2012 prius IV . If anyone has 17s they want to part with, I will consider buying or swapping. I'm in Los Angeles.
