Greetings, Here is the scanned brochure(5.1Mb) with pricelist of the Malaysian GEN III Prius. Cheers. Jeff
I like the analogy to the tandem bikers. I am surprised that M'Sia and S'pore don't get the solar panel moonroof. I figured you guys will get the most benefit.
I believe it might not so cost effective to market Prius anymore. How much do you have to top up for the solar roof option? And yes, that feature will benefit us very much. The other option I would like to have are the bigger 17" rims. Have read reports that would improve the road handling very much.
That is true. It's about a $2,000 option (CAD, USD, JPY), £1,200 in the UK (so slightly more expensive)
Wow... That would bring the price to almost RM200,000/- and it will be a bit hard to sell. But I would love to have that option, especially with the kind of weather we have here. I wonder whether the solar roof ventilation system is effective or not. Cheers. Jeff
Maybe that's why it was cut out of the options list. It should since you don't have to worry about sun angle.
I was told tariff relief will be removed for hybrids in Malaysia next year. Is this true? If yes, does anyone know the effective date? (Will the tariff relief removal also affect the plug-in version next year, or will the plug-in version still qualify for tariff relief?)
Here is the Indonesian brochure http://www.toyotaautoexpo.in/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/prius-brochure-pagenated.pdf A lot of similarity. One interesting detail is that the Indonesian Prius height is listed as 20mm higher then the Malasian or US models. I suspect the Indonesian Prius gets the rough road suspension that raises the car that mount. Both brochures called out "Allocating bush slant" for the bushings that mount the rear flex beam axle. Does anyone know what the purpose of the bushing angle is? Edit: Answered my own question, see p40 of http://www.ulsab-avc.org/uploaded/ULSAS_EngRpt_Twistbeam_Design.pdf
The 20mm may also be the difference btwn the 17" alloys and the 15" alloys that are standard in M'sia. Btw, anyone d/led the Prius App from Toyota Malaysia? The PQ Test? I can't seem to pass the visual acuity portion because i can't find the 5th "spot the difference" on the 3rd test
Both brochures only list 15 inch wheels and the difference is to big to be the 15 vs 17 inch wheel/tire radius difference. It is the same as the ride height difference for standard vs rough road suspension rounded to the 5mm.
Cool brochure; thanks for sharing! Far more informative than the 4-page leaflet we have over on this side of the pond. The heads-up display of the speed/HSI is of particular interest! I guess we don't get that in North America. -Iain
Hi there, I will be getting my Prius coming Feb or March... Plan to get the wheel upgraded to 16" (205/55R16). Sad thing is.. seems that UMW Toyota will void the warranty if i do that. Regret buying it... :-( Not sure if we can proof a point that the diameter is the same, there should not be any conflict in terms of the warranty.
