I remember the Prius waiting lists, which handled badly, is why we have an 03 Prius instead of an 05. So I'm curious if dealer 'waiting lists' are back? On Saturday, I saw five, 2009 Prius in a row and continue to hear about NHW20s being offered with incentives. This is a good thing for new buyers but eventually, this NHW20 inventory will be gone. So my question is, are the Prius waiting lists back? Bob Wilson
maybe, but with the economy the way it is, obviously less cars are being pushed out. I don't know if it makes you feel worse or better, but the Desert Toyota here in Vegas had 3 GenIII's on the lot over the weekend. They are probably sold by now. They said it was the only shipmen they would get until mid or late june. I'm sure the waiting list will grow as they pour into dealers and fly off at the same time.
I'm certain that it's going to depend on how quickly Toyota can ramp up. Since the first trickles are just beginning to flow it's a little too early to judge IMO because a lot of markets on the ECoast have ZERO Prius' on the ground. I will say that the marketing seems to have spiked a demand and created awareness in the market over the last two weeks. Depending on how quickly Toyota can react to firm orders right now I see the lead time at about 8 weeks.
