I have an Acer all-in-one computer running Windows 10 with a USB recognition problem. If I hook up a USB card reader with a microcard from my tablet, for over 5 minutes the computer indicates the card is write-protected and then it corrects itself on its own. Also, none of the software can communicate with or recognize the scanner part of the Epson all-in-one printer/scanner/copier for that same 5 minutes and then it works correctly. The USB keyboard, mouse and external hard drives work perfectly and quickly. It doesn't matter what USB port I hook these things up to. Any ideas on what's causing it to act like this?
THANK YOU! The Avast antivirus program is apparently causing conflicts with some of the other software. I put the Avast in passive mode and the scanner fired right up in the various softwares. I have thousands of pictures to scan so I'll just disconnect from the net and disable the antivirus while I'm working on that project.
You're welcome. I'd strongly consider adding exclusions for those software programs so you aren't limping and are still protected from a stealth file on your machine.
All is good now. Things are working properly and the Avast is running. It's been been almost 10 years and two operating systems since I've had this kind of issue. I've been lucky. Again, thank you so much for the help and advice.
