Not wanting to just revise the User-Guide Iconic (2004-2009) for the newest generation Prius, time was taken to come up with an entirely new approach. Hopefully, it does an even better job of helping out newbies and enticing those just curious about Prius to pursue more. As of today, the fourth draft is available. I still need to add other stuff, like detail about rear & roof racks. But you get the idea. There's plenty of content already to start getting feedback from all y'all. Follow that link for download options: Prius User Guide (2010-2011) Feel free to chime in with comments & suggestions. .
Good work, John. Maybe you should make a notice that the guide is for US market Prius version. EU and Asia models are slightly different - no kmh/miles button, no oil maintenance screen, no tire pressure warning lamp, but add HUD and suppoting HUD buttons, different dash dimmer (analog vs. digital) control.
Great job! How about add a section for the cargo area and the underfloor storage. You can put the cargo cover under the floor and there is a rod to hold up the floor cover from falling back down.
The first edition is now available. Here's currently what's in it: More to come as time progresses. .
Thanks, John. I found this guide about two weeks before I bought my 2011 Prius II. Not a whole bunch of bells and whistles, but what I do have was explained very well in the guide. Keep up the good work.
The second-edition is finally available... John's Stuff - Toyota Prius User-Guide There's lots of new photos, including mid-cycle changes with the 2012. And of course, it now includes information about the PHV model. Like all the other User-Guides over the years, it's always a work in progress. So, keep the suggestions coming.
Just some minor thoughts: Something about the indicated MPG can be off from the odometer/pump MPG and changes with tire wear and replacements. I'll check my SAE files but some of the traction battery info isn't what I remembered. But I'll share my sources in a PM. Perhaps some disclaimer about tow bars? Bob Wilson
