Hi folks. I've been lurking for a while but just registered this morning and this is my first post. I ordered a Blizzard Peal IV with Nav last weekend. I saw a post yesterday that said that each ship carries about 500 vehicles and that got me wondering about how the distribution system works. I was surprised by that number. I would have thought the ships were the size of aircraft carriers and would carry maybe 2-3 thousand vehicles at once. Does Toyota have dedicated ships or does each shipment also carry vehicles from other manufacturers? How many ships are utilized (to the US) and what is the frequency? How many Prius's roll off the assembly line every day? Thanks in advance for your replies.
I honestly don't know specifc answers to your questions although I would like to know them myself. Someone (sorry, I forget who) posted a link to this site not too long ago, and although it is for kids some of the information is interesting nonetheless. Toyota Children's Question Room
