A few days ago, I noticed that there is a black plate on the floor of the front passenger side, that says something like "lift for vin number." What is this?
Just what it says, the Vehicle Identifican Number stamped into more permanent body parts of the car. The one on the dash is easily counterfeit. There are several locations around the car where the VIN can be found. Toyota/Lexus typically puts OEM stickers with the VIN on major body parts. It’s one way of recognising non original parts. The VIN is also hidden in other places for law enforcement needs.
