VIN number

    I have found a prius with a vin that starts with JTDKB20U
    and i have seen here that the 9t is just a checksum number and that the 10th number is the model year
    only the number is 0 and its a model 2005 or prius II so it can not be a 2000 model because its a prius 2 from 2004 and after.

    anyone any idee's?

    JTDKB20U4030XXXXXXX.....

    only the year is not valid :(

    so i called the importer and its ok :D just a 0 where there needs to be a 5 for 2005 model!
    checked the vn number and this number is OK
    even if there is a 0 on the year digit!

    appearntly the 10th digit is not always the year number!
