While waiting for my Prius to arrive I've been thinking about some fun I can have with the Smart Entry system. I thought it would be a good April Fools joke to tell people I got the Voice Activated Entry option installed. Then I'd have them test the car to confirm that it was locked. When they'd say the password I'd given them I would calmy step closer to the car so the key fob would be in range and it would open. Let me know if you trick anyone over age 10. -Dave
That, or tell them it responds to incantations. [hr:b3d3b5f118] In best Charlton Heston 10 Commandments voice: BEHOLD! BEEP BEEP[/font:b3d3b5f118]
i tell people it's programmed to me.. and only works for me... that goes for the entry and voice "activated" commands.. lol.. they don't see me hit the button and wait for the beep. lol
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Tideland Prius\";p=\"75275)</div> I've done that. I even prove it by having them try the passenger door (and they can't open it because the fob is on the driver's side). Then I calmly reach down, let it "scan my biometrics" and ta-da it unlocks. So far, no one has asked how it works when I'm wearing gloves. ;-)
Tell them the car senses the IQ of the person trying to get in. Of course, with the fob in your pocket you can get in, and they can't from the passenger side. Or you could tell them it has a biometric device that measures the size of... forget it.
