On my base model pip, I have been having trouble getting the voice activated navigation to work on a consistent basis. Yesterday I discovered that if I do a double click on the button on my steering wheel to activate, then it activates consistently - is there something wrong with it, or is that how it is supposed to work? Hmmm, since nobody says that is the way it is supposed to work, I wonder if mine is unique in that it needs the double click to get the voice activated navigation system to work?
I tried it on the way to work and it only took one press. So, are you saying that if you double-click, it always works? Where as if you only press it once, it only works sometimes? If thats the case, it would seem that the button has some contact issues.
Thanks for your input Exactly! When I press it only once, I have to keep pressing it and once in awhile it works. But if I do a double click, then it works - at least for the few times I have tried it so far. So I wondered if it was like on my mac computer, when you double click on a program icon on the desktop, it opens up the program/file . . . Now I realize it is something I will need to ask the Toyota service department about . . .
