the 2 cars have different brake systems... the sequoia sounds like the brake/vsc... the entire system is contained in a small area under the hood.

    probably unrelated to one another.

    but that really sucks!

Brake pedal moving up and down on its own? Can it do that?

Just curious, how many vehicle owners can pop the hood, and amidst the smoke pouring out of the engine compartment, identify the item ablaze as the VSC computer? I'm not saying it didn't happen; I just think there is the potential that someone jumped to a conclusion based upon the behavior of the brakes and the VSC light.

A friend was having major problems with her Honda. The alternator was shot but she had a secondary problem......rats. Sometimes there's more to a car problem then technology.

No idea.. might've been the pulsating motion of the ABS that was moving the pedal. I know the cruise control moves the accelerator pedal when it needs to accelerate.

That's bad news. With my 2005 Prius, I occasionally saw the VSC light come on as I'm making a right turn at an intersection, if I happen to hit a pothole (not even a big one) at the same time. And I wasn't going very fast, either. I thought it was just an anomaly. But today, I turned on the car, and the VSC light, brake light, and big red warning light came on, and wouldn't go off.

The manual said to not drive the car in such a state, but it was a Saturday night, and I was only 3 miles from home, so I drove slowly back. During the drive, the display showing battery strength went from almost full to almost completely empty, and then back to full, and I could hear air rushing out of the vents to the right of the rear passenger seats.

I think I'll have the car towed to the dealer on Monday. I don't trust it to drive it again.
