Albuquerque, New Mexico - A 2002 Volkswagen Golf TDI modified to run on straight canola oil (V100) has produced emissions below U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards in recent tests. The tests were performed at the National Center for Vehicle Emissions Control and Safety, located at Colorado State University. The Jetta was modified by Albuquerque Alternative Energies, and uses a vegetable oil fuel system consisting of a heated fuel pickup, dual-stage processing filter, electric final fuel heater, and a controller that precisely controls the fuel temperature to maintain correct viscosities. It looks they passed the old EPA limit, 1.25 g/mile of NOx. http://www.abqaltenergies.com/images/CSU%2...t%20Results.JPG The 2007 Tier 2 Bin 5 spec is 0.07 g/mile of NOx, isn't it? Ken@Japan
