I saw this car on my favorite BBC show, Top Gear. It's a 1.4L Turbo-Diesel VW that is only sold in Europe...so far. There are rumors it may be headed to the US. The real news about this car is it gets realistically 65 MPG!!! And apparently, it's no slouch either. There is some turbo lag, but from what I've read, it's really fun to drive. WHY ISN'T THIS CAR IN AMERICA RIGHT NOW??? I can only guess, but my feeling, with gas prices still high, that this thing would sell through the roof.
That's 65 miles per imperial gallon. It isn't in the U.S. because it can't meet our emissions standards. Tom
That's about 54mpg US. I get 55mpg in the summer in a larger car. Keep in mind that the Polo is smaller than the Golf.
