I have been lurking here for a while, but this is my first post. Someone I know was recently in an accident, where a Prius was stopped in the right-hand travel lane on a highway, and was rear-ended. The driver (of the Prius) stated that a warning light had come on to her dashboard and she was worried enough to stop. What light could this be? Would there have been any case where the car would have stopped, and would not have been able to make it an additional 3-4 hundred feet to a breakdown lane section? If the car had run out of gas, would it still have been drivable? Would it stop like that? Thanks a lot for your help, EMTd
I'd imagine any of the warning lights is generally a VERY bad thing. Could be low oil light, tire pressure light, the "big" warning light...
It sounds like that lady is a moron. Regardless of what the problem is, she should've, and probably could've, pulled off to the shoulder where it's safer for her and other people.
