So I found out that Speedpass was offering to give a $20 gas card to residents of FL, LA, MA, NC, NJ, RI and SC since they wouldn't get to participate in the rebate deal, and I signed up. What I did wrong was to call the number on the fob package when it arrived, rather than use the web like I should have. A call to Customer Service only got me a $10 gas card to make me feel a little less dumb about not following directions. The SpeedPass fob is now stored at home, probably permanently. So if you live in those states, and you want $20 of gas with nothing extra to buy, go for it. Just be sure everything you do is per the rules...
