TLDR. Anyone know if this is off an earlier generation Prius or even off a Prius at all? Purchased off eBay from a seller with JDM engines in their account name. Figured they would know what they were talking about. Claim was it was for a 2010 to 2015 Prius. I installed and then discovered something wasn’t right other than the fact the brake pedal connector was too narrow. I just exchanged the connector for my old one. The hydraulic connection for the 5th line that goes into the side of the actuator at 90 degrees from the other four was on the opposite side. You can see here, It’s just blanked off and the actual connection is on the opposite side. When I contacted them they offered this solution. Since I’d already exhausted my 77 year old body getting it bolted in I tried that. I got a check hybrid system error I could not clear with Techstream. I managed to get my old unit close enough to plug in and was able to clear the communication error. Plugged the replacement actuator back in and got the same unrecoverable error. Think this wasn’t for a 2010. Been returned and hoping to hear back from them before I start a claim with eBay and or PayPal. So which generation if any was this off of?
Looks like it belongs to a 2015 Toyota Aqua hybrid. There's some listed in ebay UK Could find nothing for that number in the 50 states Toyota websites.
But You have it installed now working or was there no work around usually the right hand drive stuff can move to the left and because the lines are changed one or two will usually be a little different but it's usually pretty easily overcome?.
It caused communication problems when installed that were not clearable using Techstream. Plugged in original and communication issue went away. As TMR-JWAP speculates I don’t think it was for a US model 3rd gen.
That is interesting I guess since my days of engine swaps in the '80s and early '90s they have made different electrical systems I guess for the US and the other markets certainly seems that way at least an '04 to '09 most of that stuff can flip flop in out of vehicles and work and communicate.
