washed the car, now the exterior temp reading doesn't update

    I washed the car yesterday and the temperature reading on the AC display was reading really low a couple of hours after washing (outside temp 95, reading 79). it stayed that way for 20 minutes then only went up 3 degrees.

    where is the sensor located?

    The sensor is located behind the front grille, in front of the radiator but behind the front bumper assembly.

    Perhaps you have found the solution for "global warming." Otherwise, you got a wire or sensor wet and created a low voltage short circuit. It may start working again when it dries.

    Yeah, that happens until it's fully dry.

    I kinda sorta figured it would return to normal strange thing is I've washed the car many times before and this never happened. It finally did return to normal Sunday afternoon.

    Do you do handwashes? This has happened to me on every wash (when using the manual spray drive-in wash).
