Any ideas? I'm not running my AC. Hasn't rained in a few days and I can't think of anything. Is there some AC unit that runs anyway to cool battery? I'm at a loss but thankfully it's just water so I imagine not too serious or serious at all.
Hmm, I have the defrost button off but I do have the fan on to blow at the feet and windows. Does that count of defrost? I figured that was just direction of air since the official button isn't pressed.
Sounds like AC evaporator to me, its definitely in the right spot. Touch it and see if its water or more slippery like coolant or oil. You should be able to tell. Ive never had mine drip unless running the AC or defrost function. Defrost does use AC, if turned on, even if the AC led is not lit.
Does that mean if my fan is on and AC is off but I have it set to blow air at my feet and windows (which has the defrost icon) that the AC is still on?
I think I remember seeing mentions of the Gen 4 having humidity control that will bring down the humidity without you necessarily turning on the A/C. In my Prime's manual, it says the humidity control is on when the ventilation system is set to Auto. So, I would think that having it totally turned off, or having a manual setting w/o the air conditioner would not do that. But it sure sounds like evaporator water from the location.
Interesting. Well, water generally shouldn't be an issue anyway, right? I should double check it isn't something else. I put my nose right up to it and it just smelled like sitting water a little bit. Almost can't smell anything at all. No sweet or funky smells of any kind.
My cars have been dribbling water in that spot ever since they had air conditioners. I never even give it a thought. If it didn't dribble, then I'd get concerned that the evaporator drain was plugged and I was about to have water dribbling on the floor if the car. My wife hates when that happens! If there is actually something wrong, which I doubt in the extreme, it'll become obvious.
Yes, if you have the defrost and feet on it runs the AC despite the AC light not being on. If you have the Fan on the face or feet or both (Bi-Level) then no AC if light is not on. Oddly enough, if you hit the defrost button it will start the car right away while running the combo defrost and feet wont. This is a bit of a hack for me as I have to drive a ways in a slower parking situation and then sit at a light before heading down the road to work (make sure you dont go past 20MPH or ICE will start)
