I have a 2005 gen 2. My red triangle warning light, plus engine light came on. I drove 200 miles to my dealer with no apparent change in mileage or performance. The tech at the dealer put the diagnostics on and the hybrid battery shows one cell that has 14.89 volts. He said that is why the light came on. He said I could drive it like that. I have driven it that way for a week now and it seems to perform normally. The only problem is that we have an inspection in North Carolina that it will not pass this way. I also notice that it seems the battery cooling fan that exhausts on the right side of the rear seat runs more, or I just never noticed it before. My question is: can I drive it this way indefinately? thanks Adin
You may want to call these Guys they may want to replace that one defective cell. My guess is other cells may expire. You can get rebuilt traction battery all the cells are repaired.
