An interesting statistic? Measured with a decent digital scale, the kind that you hook the load up, let it hang, and once it stabilizes it locks the value. Both tires down to about 8/32" tread depth: OEM 17" rim with Michelin Pilot 215/45R17 approx. weight: 44.36 lb Corolla 15" steel rim with Michelin X-Ice2 165/65R15 approx. weight: 37.00 lb
Yeah, that's kinda interesting data; thanks for contributing it! One of these days I'll weigh my OE 15" aluminum wheels with their 165/65 tires. For comparison, the OE 13" steel wheels of my Mazda weighed about 13 pounds each, and so did the tires, for a total of 26.
ehh, the Corolla 15" rims mount 195/65R15 tyres IIRC. The Gen 2 Prius rims are 14 lbs each. I don't recall anyone measuring the Gen 3 ones yet.
