Every time I exit park on my 2016 prius there's a weird noise. I couldn't explain it to you but it happens almost every time. Anyone know what it is by chance? Haven't read anything on it and it didn't happen on my 3rd gen
There's an electromechanical gadget that actuates in one direction when you put the car in park, and in the opposite direction when you shift out of park. It's the actual locker mechanism that holds the car in park mode. I couldn't tell you why it is easier to hear on your current car. I don't think they've changed the locker device.
