Source: Rocket Lab on road to reusability after successful booster recovery | Space The Space Shuttle recovered the solid boosters which were recycled. Seeing Space Lab starting to do the same is welcome news. In the past, sounding rockets were used to test payloads for ~15 minutes of vacuum and zero-G. Space Lab is a perfect replacement with an orbital capability. Booster recovery and refurbishment means a lower cost. Bob Wilson
